After the speakers’ presentations, the workshop turned into a dialogue discussion between the speakers and the attendees. Difficulties and problems in business and commercial dispute settlement procedures (including court proceedings, arbitration, mediation, judgment enforcement, and property handling…) and bankruptcy are covered. Controversial topics such as asset handling in bankruptcy proceedings, clearing of obligations, explanation of principles of law application in dispute resolution by mediation, and arbitration received a lot of attention. enthusiasm and lively debate at the conference. In particular, with his participation, Judge Nguyen Cong Phu, Deputy Chief of the Economic Court, People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City, shared a number of views from the perspective of the Court.

The workshop, therefore, lasted longer than expected and ended with a lot of questions left. The representative of the Ministry of Justice agreed to continue to coordinate with VICMC and VBLC to organize similar seminars to create more forums to exchange and comment on draft policies to remove obstacles and contribute to improving the business environment in Vietnam as well as improving the index of contract dispute resolution and corporate bankruptcy resolution in the future. VICMC is honored to be the focal point to coordinate with the Ministry of Justice to implement this plan.
