VICMC EXPANDS COOPERATION WITH HO CHI MINH CITY UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS AND FINANCE (UEF) TO ENHANCE PRACTICAL LEGAL CONNECTIONS FOR STUDENTS

On 16 May 2026, representatives of the Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Center (VICMC) participated in a networking and partnership expansion event in the legal sector organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF). The event aimed to strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and legal practice organizations, thereby creating more opportunities for law students to gain practical exposure and develop their professional careers.

Representing UEF were Dr. Nguyen Trung Tin – Vice President of the University; Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law; together with leaders and lecturers from the Faculty of Law.

Representing VICMC were Mr. Nguyen Ba Son – Vice President and Founding Member of VICMC; Ms. Vu Thi Que – Vice President and Founding Member of VICMC; Ms. Tran Thi Huong – Deputy Head of External Relations of VICMC; and Ms. Ngo Quynh Anh – Mediator at VICMC.

The event was also honored by the participation of representatives from various enterprises and partner organizations in the legal sector.

During the event, participants exchanged views on development trends in the legal field amid digital transformation, as well as the growing demand for practical, profession-oriented training activities for students. This is also one of the key directions that UEF has been actively promoting through expanded cooperation with professional organizations, businesses, and legal institutions.

In particular, the discussions highlighted the important role of academic and practical simulation activities in helping students effectively approach alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods, especially commercial mediation. In this regard, the Vietnam Mediation Moot (V-MED) 2026, co-organized by the Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Center (VICMC), the Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC), and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF), is expected to continue serving as a specialized academic platform where students can develop mediation, negotiation, problem-solving, and practical legal skills.

As a partner of UEF and a co-organizer of V-MED 2026, VICMC believes that this cooperation will serve as an important starting point for deeper collaboration among the parties in building a highly practice-oriented legal education environment, while also contributing to the promotion of mediation culture and modern dispute resolution methods within Vietnam’s law student community.

The event also clearly reflected the growing trend of strengthening connections between universities and professional organizations in order to provide students with early access to the professional legal environment while still at university.
