On 03 July 2021, VICMC Mediators had an internal meeting with the topic “Shareholders’ disputes – Overview and experiences”. Chairman Nguyen Hung Quang, Founder and Managing Partner of NHQuang and Associates and Mediator Phan Duc Hieu, Vice President of Central Institute for Economic Management were keynote speakers of the event.

Internal corporate dispute has always been a highly concerned issue for companies, lawyers, mediators etc., especially after the introduction of the Law on Enterprises 2020. Internal corporate disputes can stem from a variety of reasons and result in serious consequences when lacking effective risk management and dispute resolution mechanism.

In the meeting, the speakers presented a comprehensive overview of internal corporate dispute, including legal framework, classification, reasons, and methods of resolution. The presentation was coupled with examples of practical cases and newly introduced points in current legislation.

Later, VICMC Mediators had the chance to discuss specific cases of internal corporate dispute. The discussion revolved around the legal issues of the cases, and how mediation skills can be utilized in each case for all parties to reach their desired goals.
