VICMC Mediator presenting at 2019 Annual Conference on Development of International Law

On 6th December 2019, Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted 2019 Annual Conference on Development of International Law. Joining this event, Mediator of Vietnam International Commercial Arbitration Center (VICMC), Partner of Allens Pte. Ltd – Mr. Le Ba Thanh Chung delivered a presentation on “Practice in dispute resolution through mediation and challenge for mediation in Viet Nam”

On 6th December 2019, Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted 2019 Annual Conference on Development of International Law. Joining this event, Mediator of Vietnam International Commercial Arbitration Center (VICMC), Partner of Allens Pte. Ltd – Mr. Le Ba Thanh Chung delivered a presentation on “Practice in dispute resolution through mediation and challenge for mediation in Viet Nam”

The presentation has called great attention of over 100 participants who come from ministries, central agencies, businesses and other organizations. Being a VICMC Mediator and an experienced lawyer from an international law firm, Mr. Le Ba Thanh Chung has provided comments on the trend of mediation as an alternative dispute resolution for international dispute settlements over the world and Vietnam. Mr. Chung has alleged that mediation is the right direction for dispute resolution, when countries, including Vietnam, are increasingly taking their parts in the negotiation of new trade agreements. Vietnam is required to improve its regulations relating to mediation. Commercial mediation is also an alternative dispute resolution with growing interest in Vietnam business community in addition to arbitration.
