[INTRODUCTION CORNER] Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot (FDI Moot) Shenzhen 2025

In order to enhance the knowledge of international investment arbitration, promote investment arbitration and expand the talent pool of the related fields in China; as the first arbitration institution in Mainland China to hear investment arbitration, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) cooperated with CILS in 2020 to act as the exclusive Chinese National Organizer to exclusively host the National Round of the annual Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot (FDI Moot) China – FDI Moot Shenzhen.

Authorized by the Global Organizer of FDI Moot, SCIA has acted as the exclusive Chinese Organizer of FDI Moot Shenzhen since 2020, promoting the mission of developing investment arbitration and expanding the investment arbitration talent pool in China.

FDI Moot Shenzhen plays a role in helping teams from China advance to FDI Moot Asia Pacific or FDI Moot Global. FDI Moot Shenzhen also provides outstanding teams and students with various awards, attractive financial support and priority internship opportunities. Last year, with the support from ICC, and UNCITRAL, ICSID, SCC etc., the event attracted 42 teams from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as more than 200 experts and practitioners from 30 countries and regions serving as arbitrators, and it was supported by 24 international organizations, 17 law firms.

This year, the Competition has officially kicked off with information as follows:

  • In-Person Elimination Round: 26-27/07/2025 (at SCIA Tower, Shenzhen, China)
