On June 6, 2024, at the Union of Science and Technology Associations in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Center (VICMC) attended the Opening Ceremony of the Arbitration Research Institute and signed a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among VICMC, Arbitration Research Institute (ARI) and Ho Chi Minh City Commercial Arbitration Center (TRACENT).

Ho Chi Minh City Commercial Arbitration Center (TRACENT) is one of the established arbitration centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam. With a number of over 200 arbitrators, TRACENT has resolved alternative disputes in all areas of commercial business, contributing to promoting the process of deep international integration of the Vietnamese business community. 

Arbitration Research Institute (ARI) is a unit established with the mission of researching, cooperating, training and developing to improve the quality of arbitrators to attend to business community through digital science and technology applications with shared data center application platforms in the fields of law and commercial arbitration.

At the signing ceremony, Vice President Vu Thi Que – representative of VICMC to sign a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), expressed congratulation to the establishment of ARI and shared about the cooperation among the parties as well as the interconnection cooperation mechanism of Mediation and Arbitration. The main cooperation contents in the MoU include:

  • Cooperate in carrying out professional activities, including: organizing training courses, seminars, exchanging and sharing knowledge and skills for mediators and arbitrators;
  • Cooperate in developing a common process for resolving commercial disputes according to the model of Mediation and Arbitration (Med-Arb);
  • Coordinate scientific research in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution…

Through the signing of the Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between VICMC, ARI and TRACENT, it is expected that in the future many opportunities for connection among VICMC Mediators, TRACENT Arbitrators, ARI members and community of practitioners in the field of alternative dispute resolutions will be widely opened.
