The settlement of civil and commercial disputes by mediation is becoming a trend in the world because of many advantages of this method, such as time and cost-saving, relationship maintenance and confidential guarantee. Mediation is considered to be a way to support business and economic development. Mediation is considered a vehicle to help parties relating to international disputes to overcome cultural barriers and jurisdiction limits.
The Government’s Decree No. 22/2017/ND-CP on commercial mediation permits the application of mediation for the settlement of disputes arising from commercial activities or disputes with a party with commercial activities that the parties agree to choose. Viet Nam International Commercial Mediation Center (VICMC) has been founded by members of the Viet Nam Society of International Laws (VSIL) in late 2018. Its missions are to provide fast and effective dispute settlement service by mediation. With the above missions, VICMC provides the following services:
